Thanks for the excellent info on pending applications. Now we can guess why EB3I is crawling for past few years.
With regular quota of 3000 per year EB3I (until July 2007) will be cleared in next 20+ years.

I thought my GC will be granted after my death, I am happy and thank GOD, that it is going to be just in 20 Years and few years before my retirement

I disagree with the earlier comment. I don't agree that any one(including EB3) lost due to July 2007 visa bulletin. sure it was haphazard by the way it was handled, but thousands of well qualified applicants from many retrogressed countries had a chance to file their I 485 and were able to obtain well deserved benefits like EAD, AP or themselves and their dependants which thy have been denied for many yearsdue to the inefficient processing of various agencies. people have to realize that all of us are in the same boat and most of the people getting unfair treatment are from the retrogressed countries waiting for their green cards for 8-9 years

Except the native Indians, everybody in this country is an immigrant or a discendent of immigrants (and many of them illegal, btw, but they quickly forgot that...). But once they settle, the ex-immigrants immediately start putting hurdles before the new immigrants - laws of nature! Now we have: "Immigration is a privilege, not a right" :-) Come on!
Our case is a tricky one because we do not have enough leverage to push the government to resolve quickly the mess it created with the backlog and the retrogression.
The only way to fight it is to expose our case broadly via the US media. I was promoting this idea since I joined IV. In the beginning I was critisized for that since the core group thought that lobbying was an universal tool but later they changed their mind. So, I deeply believe that broad media coverage can only help solving the legal immigration mess.

For me I have to renew H-1 visa every year wich will be same as EAD/AP. Each time I would go for H-1 visa I will be stuck for security clearance making me stay outside US without work for unknown number of months which is the worst experience that can happen to anyone not the grey area of AOS.
But to get EAD/AP I do not need to step outside US neither do I need to wait for security clearance and I hope to travel home when I want.
So to me EAD/AP is better than H-1visa.
If I get EAD/AP can I go for H-1 stamping?

Since they will be a party to this along with you it is better you talk to them and make sure they assist you properly. Also was your insurance at that time conforming to state minimum requirements if that is the case then you can breathe easy since you had done everything that law asked you to do so hopefully there is no criminal case against you. Worst if court ask's you to pay financially you can declare bankruptcy and minimize the impact. I am sure that does not affect GC. But rather than forum you need a good attorney to talk to. Make sure who ever you select to talk to about this accident case you arrange a meeting between this lawyer and your immigration lawyer so that both are well aware of situation.

I am totally with you , I am not looking for EAD/AP I just need my GC.So that i can plan my life.
We need more efforts to request the government to look into our problems.
I pay lot of taxes, social security and still its easier for others to get a GC and not me...
I also belive we should not use Gandhigiri , to request something , which was against the priniciples of Gandhi... but sab chalta hai..
I don't know why but we tend to be satisfied with lsmall benefits...
I agree with you "something (EAD and AP) is better than nothing"
But i bet you ..you will find your self in the same situation of agony and endless waiting for the final Green card.
I bet most of the people don't use your ead and AP as it puts you in a gray "Adjustment of status". They are good to have though. But you will see...how painful it is to decide to use them or not..
What i want to say is that being able to apply for EAD and AP is not the end of the battle..you will be stuck in a depressing situation waiting for the final green card.How do i know? .. I went through it...waiting for GC for the past 4 years.
I dont know its FBI or its just the USCIS incompetence but waiting in the final stage is horrible. Every time you travel you are scared...AP as for as my lawyer goes IT does not guarantee 100% entry in to the country.
After you apply for AP its only 1 year H1 increments.
What i am saying why dont we try for the overall improvement of the GC processing. Why dont we be firm about not wasting the GC numbers and recapturing the unused numbers.
We had a small revolt (peaceful way) and its successful.We dont want to stop there.
