Milan are scheduled to play Spurs at White Hart Lane in March, and the Italian has confirmed he will not make the trip for fear of his own safety following his extraodinary post-match spat from the first leg.
Speaking on Italian radio, the Milan midfielder again conceded he was wrong to headbutt Tottenham coach Joe Jordan but said: "I would like to go to White Hart Lane for the second leg but I have been advised not to.
"I have been told there will be 47,000 people there just waiting to give me a slap, so I will stay in Milan.
"It was lucky Zlatan Ibrahimovic was not at my side when the confrontation with Jordan happened. If he had been, the fight would still be going on.
"When I went towards Jordan at the end of the game, he took off his glasses like he was ready for a challenge. He was screaming the 'f' word at me repeatedly.
"Then [Sebastien] Bassong came up and said 'hey, you and me'. It went on in the tunnel, where Bassong was trying to belittle me about my height. He was laughing at me."
In the same interview, Gattuso also hinted that he felt UEFA's four-match ban handed to him for his assault on Jordan was harsh - but joked: "at least they didn't throw me in jail for a month."
"Antonio Cassano said to me, 'What a great example you have set, I should be your mentor!'
"My motto is 'show respect to those who show respect to you.' I went over to Joe Jordan after the final whistle and he took of his glasses in a show of defiance and started shouting profanity at me."
Milan lost their Champions League last 16 opener 1-0 at home against Spurs courtesy of a late Peter Crouch strike. At the final whistle, there were ugly scenes as Gattuso went over to the touchline where Jordan was standing to confront him.
