I do not mean to be negative, but this immigration debacle does not seem to end. How long do we have to freaking endure this nightmare? IV has been trying for months now...When do you think we will have immigration relief? Are we just going to end up being like thirsty deers in a desert chasing a mirage in search for water?
Are there any astrologers in the forum? Does any astrologer see the retrogression ending soon?

No LUDs on my and my wife's 485 yet. We filed in July 2007 and processing center is at TSC

High time this bill is passed. Too much fraud in L1s and H1s.Existing H1s dont have jobs and our green cards pending and no hope when it will come. They should really make L1 very very hard because I work in a huge wireless company where they get L1s from companies like TCS and they work 15 hours a day with $25 billing rate, because of which all contractors and permenant workes (on H1, GC, EAD etc) are being laid off

My Situation is Similar to Yours.
So it looks like you were able to GET H1 TRANSFER / EXTENSION
With Another Employer, Even After Entering US on Advance Parole.
I have a few Questions for you I would appreciate if you can please answer them :
1. When you Applied for H1B Transfer in Permium Processing, which I-94 #
did you gave to USCIS.
2. What did u or Attroney answered for Last Manner of Entry Question
3. Are you within the 6 Years limit for H1B or beyond i.e. using I-140 Approval.
4. Did u get any RFE for your H1B after using AP.
Please let me know.

In my case, I travelled back on AP as my visa extension stamping went pending in Mumbai consulate. Came back here with my I-94 indicating "Parolee" as my new status.
Within 2 weeks, I changed employer as per AC21, they filed for my H1 transfer(premium processing) via Murthy Law Firm. I received a new I94 which put me back in the H1B status. During this 2-3 weeks I was in the US as a parolee I did NOT use the EAD, because you don't have to.
Interestingly after 3 months of my visa application at Mumbai consulate (2 months after I reached US) I received an email from them asking me to submit my passport for stamping. Its unbelievable that they think applicants would still be waiting in India for 3 months and that their employers would still be interested in keeping them, but I guess after all this ordeal I realised, they just don't care.

Forum Gurus - I got a denial letter on my 485. I am a July 2007 filer and applied for AOS in July 2007. My 140 was revoked by ex employer in August 2008 and immediately I got a NOID from USCIS and responded to it in a timely manner and my case processing resumed.
But now, I got a denial stating that my 140 has been revoked in August 2008 and thats why my 485 is denied. My Attorney is filing for MTR and says it is a mistake on their side and will be resolved through MTR.
It just baffles me that the person who sent the denial letter never looked into the system to see my case trail and blindly issued the denial notice. My Attorney says, it is very much possible that they do not look at RFEs or responses - they just issue denials when they browse through the 140s.
I am EB2 India with a priority date of March 2006. I think some kind of pre assessment is going on. There are no LUDs and mine is at the TSC.
Is there anyone else in the same boat? How long does it take for MTR to get processed?

May be that is the reason you took offense when people commented on Bcom thing. An MBA is valuable only if your bachelors degree is valuable. Many people have this wrong notion that it does not matter what you have in your bachelors, if you get an MBA everything is all set. Companies need engineer + MBA combination. Very few companies hire MBAs for accounting work. DOn't confuse accounting with finance, they are different. I can tell you that for sure, as i work in finance.
Contents of MBA also matter, most people take easy way out by taking all bluff management, marketing and strategy courses. Very few take the hardcore finance courses such as derivatives, fixed income, and valuations (these courses could differ in level of difficulty based on school).
Are you one of those guys sitting in Wall Street with Ivy League studies getting all the high end knowledge, and to do what, screw the economies world over? Laloo did that to Bihar with minimal education. Sorry to see all your effort go waste when you could have achieved just as much, just by reading about Laloo :D.

Not a bit. If you want I can give you a plenty... L1 is for intercompany transfer. But So far I have seen companies put people only at the client place and their salary is starting at 32K and they are put up at extended staty, asked to share the cab or car. So let me know if you want and I can directly let you talk to those guys.

So our common goal is to fix the broken system, remove the employer's undue advantage over the employee. No matter if they are MNC or desi consulting companies. Why the employee is tied to the employer when there is the need/demand for the skill set. Thats the only thing which is driving down the wages.
I fully agree with this. L1's being placed at Client's place is ILLEGAL. I have several proof's of this. TCS, Infy, CTS and LT do FAVOR their employees with a gift of filing in EB1 because these guys WOULD not complain to any one what they are paid and their benefits.

This might sound weired..but I think we can get some support from Housing Market !
Facts:

The housing market is slowing down significantly and there are millions of unsold homes out there.
More than 1/2 million people are stuck in the green card process. I am sure
most are waiting for green card before they buy their house and make longtime commitment.
I think we are a "Frozen" pool of customers for the Housing Market.
500000 H1B X 300000 (average house price) = 150 billion dollar market is just
inaccessible just because of retrogression.
I think we should convince them to help us FINANCIALY
