After a tense stalemate looked to be heading for a goalless draw, Rio Ferdinand scored a dramatic winner for United at the death. Red Devils captain Gary Neville controversially ran towards the travelling Liverpool fans to celebrate the goal by grabbing his shirt and gesticulating. Neville defended his actions - saying "What are you meant to do? Smile sweetly and jog back to the halfway line?" - but received a fine anyway.
