Gerrard picked up an injury in the defeat of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge two weeks ago and Carroll is yet to recover from a thigh injury he has carried even before his £35million move from Newcastle United in the January transfer window.
Reports had suggested that Dalglish might be tempted to play Gerrard in Thursday's Europa League decider against Sparta Prague while Carroll was understood to be in the running to make his debut against West Ham United this weekend.
However, Dalglish dispelled both rumours through comments made to the club's official website.
"As much as Steven would love to play and we'd love to have him, I think we've got to think a bit longer term than just one game," Dalglish said.
