A fashionable Cinema Society crowd, including novelist Jill Kargman, Voguecontributing editor Kathryn Neale Shaffer, and designer Rachel Roy, who is set to debut her moderately-priced Rachel by Rachel Roy collection at Macy’s next month, were treated to the Zooey Deschanel-flick at the Tribeca Grand Hotel, with cocktails following at the nearby Soho Grand. Young socialite Bee Shaffer is back in Manhattan after an extended stay in Italy. Following her graduation from Columbia University, she left for Venice in early June and last week, was a special guest of Lazaro Hernandez andJack McCullough at their Proenza Schouler spring 2010 presentation in Florence. Long thought to follow in the footsteps of her mother, Vogueeditor-in-chief Anna Wintour, as a fashion journalist, she has instead set her professional sights for the stage as a theatrical producer. Actress Kate Mara, heiress to the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers professional sports franchises, has joined the cast of Iron Man 2 and will portray a love interest of the main character. The Open Road, a film she stars in alongside Justin Timberlake, is set for wide release in early September. Fellow thespian Tarajia Morrell was last seen on-screen in the horror-thrillerThe Lodger.
